Dr Robert Charnock is the Founding Director of the Metis Institute of Climate Strategy, based in Singapore and funded by RSK Group. Rob received his PhD in Climate Finance from the London School of Economics, while working with the United Nations to help financial institutions manage the risks of climate change. His current focus is a collaboration with the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, aimed at embedding ESG into management practices for some of the world’s largest food retail and supply companies.
In 2021, Rob led a research team commissioned by the UK’s Financial Reporting Council to interview the teams driving climate strategy within FTSE100 and FTSE250 companies, delivering an accessible and practical report that is publicly available. He is currently a member of the Technical Reference Panel for the International Sustainability Standards Board and has run knowledge transfer workshops with the central banks of Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand, as well as leading think tanks and sustainable finance networks across Europe and APAC.
